Impressions are the amount of times an ad appears on a webpage. This can get interesting becasue ads can change while someone is on a webpage each of these changes is considered an impression. Also ads can be hidden by being on the bottom of a page. These are only counted if someone scrolls down to see them. The area below your screen that you have to scroll to get to is called "below the fold". What you see when you first go to a webpage is called "above the fold". You always want your best paying advertising to go above the fold. Generally you want to get as many impressions as you can, but if your page is overloaded with ads you'll just turn people away. |

Affiliate programs are the kings of internet marking in my opinion. Affiliate programs are advertising programs that you can ad to your site where you earn a commission if someone performs an action after clicking one of your affiliate links. Normal advertising programs like AdSense pay you a small amount per click. Affiliate programs pay per action, usually someone buying something. Good affiliate programs pay up to 50% of whatever someone buys or pays for. On average affiliate programs pay around 5-10% per action, but they count actions up to 1 month from the viewer clicking on that ad. This is a very important key to legitimate internet marketing. If you have access to lot of targeted traffic, then you can do extremely well with affiliate links. I do mean extremely well.... |

Targeted we traffic is absolutely gold in this business. There are 2 types of web traffic: - Targeted
- Un-Targeted
Targeted traffic is when you are able to find a group of people with a common interest. For example my website www.theairbrushforum.com has over 7000 members that are all interested in airbrushing. Now I can legitimately point them to resources for that hobby and make money in commissions if they buy stuff from my sponsors, which are all airbrushing related.
You can buy traffic, but it is generally un-targeted. This is a common practice for companies that run pornographic sites. There is no money in porn anymore but there is a ton of traffic. So when you buy traffic it's generally from a company that looks legit but is just redirecting people that were definitely not looking for your website's content. Un-targeted viewers come to your site then turn around and leave. That is called bouncing. Bouncing is mesurable and pretty easy to track. Watching your "bounce rate" helps you to determine if you are driving targeted traffic or just useless un-targeted traffic. Obviously you want to constantly strive to lower your bounce rate. |

There are a ton of ways people make money from internet marking but.... The #1 way people make money from it is they sell you a "how to make money" system of some type. Which is bogus... Generally there is a legitimate way to make money and a scammy way to make money. I am a big fan of legitimate internet marketing because it's much more profitable and has much more potential to make you very wealthy. The legitimate way is to generate target traffic and advertise around that traffic. The scammy way is to tell everyone you have a good way and then make them pay to find out what it is. When they d, they generally are disappointed to find out it's the same stuff you can learn here for free. Check out my videos and guides for the details of how to build a successful internet marketing system. |
